I earned my Bachelors in Mathematics from California State University, Fresno in 1996. Having two small children at the time, I began teaching high school math where I taught courses ranging from Algebra to Calculus. After four years, I went back to school and earned my MBA from CSUF with an option in Finance.
I then entered the manufacturing field at Duncan Enterprises, the makers of craft paint and glue. I worked with companies such as Target, Walmart, and Michael's Arts and Crafts, aligning their ordering system with Duncan's forecasting and production systems. I also created a sales database and trained employees on using Cognos, a data reporting program.
In 2009, I was hired at Guardian Industries, a worldwide glass manufacturer. There, I organized a cost-cutting mission with plant managers and reported the results on a monthly basis to executive management. I also utilized the inventory control program, Maximo, to reduce the amount of parts inventory in the plant. While working at Guardian, I taught evening classes for six years at University of Phoenix in the areas of Business Management, Personal Finance and Algebra.
Along with teaching at Cabrillo College, I have taught Business Management at Monterey Penninsula College.
It is a privilege to work at Cabrillo College. Teaching bestows upon me an opportunity to share my enthusiasm for business technology with students. It is my passion to inspire students and to give them an appreciation for what Microsoft Office programs have to offer.
